My Story
Erin Garcia is the owner and Physical Therapist at Neuro Home Physical Therapy. Erin graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University, and has been practicing as a Physical Therapist for over 9 years. From working in settings such as a large medical center, small private clinic, and schools, Erin has gained an expansive knowledge base and exposure to a variety of client presentations and diagnoses. The majority of her professional career was spent at RUSK Rehabilitation, where she worked to specialize in neurological rehabilitation with adults , before transitioning to pediatric private practice. Erin is a NPTE board-certified Neurologic Certified Specialist as of 2020. This specialization involves working over 2,000 hours with patients with neurologic dysfunction, and demonstrating competency in the following areas: Patient Care (examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention), Patient Education, Interpretation of Research, Administration, Consultation, as well as passing the Neurologic Clinical Specialist Examination.
She co-published "Vestibular physical therapy management of a patient with idiopathic peripheral neuropathy and a patient with chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy" in the Vestibular Special Interest Group Newsletter in 2023, which won Vestibular Article of the Year. She has presented at national conferences, such as the ANPT's Virtual Conference in 2021, where alongside colleagues she presented “Peripheral Neuropathies and Vestibular Dysfunction: Recommendations for Vestibular Screen and Benefits of Vestibular Exercises”. Additionally, she has presented 3 posters at the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Combined Sections Meeting. Additionally, she completed and passed the Vestibular Competency Course presented by Duke University School of Medicine and the APTA in 2018. She has guest-starred on Sirius XM's Dr. Radio to field caller questions regarding vestibular impairment. She has mentored and instructed 6 Student Doctors of Physical Therapy over the last 8 years. Erin has dedicated her career to improving the quality of life of clients of all ages who are looking to achieve individual goals. She created Neuro home PT to allow for her to continue to provide high quality care while prioritizing spending time with her family.
